For many HLP and DME children, gaming isn’t just a pastime — it can be a vital lifeline. Whether it’s coping with Emotional-Based School Avoidance, managing anxiety, or simply finding a space where they feel happy, games like Minecraft can offer a unique form of comfort. Gaming can become a “safe space” — a world where rules are clear, creativity is limitless, and children can express themselves without judgement.

This is a space for open conversation, sharing experiences.  Together, we’ll explore why gaming can be so powerful for our children. We’ll discuss how it supports emotional wellbeing and consider what it reveals about how these children experience the world.

This is a warm and welcoming space to share your thoughts, exchange ideas, and reflect on strategies to better understand and support your child. Hear from other parents navigating similar challenges and leave with new perspectives and tools for your journey.

• Fantastic Chats: Join conversations about books, films and the unique adventure of being parents. It's great if you've read the book or seen the film/article we're discussing and want to share your thoughts. It's also fine if you haven't yet but would like to listen in on the discussion.
