Does your child show remarkable potential but struggle with sensory sensitivities? In this discussion, we’ll explore how sensory sensitivities can appear alongside high learning potential and dual or multiple exceptionality (DME) shaping how children think, feel, and engage with the world. Our conversation will be inspired by the book Occupational Therapy for Children with DME or Twice Exceptionality: A Practical Approach to Support High Learning Potential, Sensory Processing Differences and Self-Regulation by Mariza Ferreira & Rebecca Howell. Together, we’ll explore sensory differences through a strengths-based lens — not as problems, but as part of a unique profile and have some practical ideas to support regulation and confidence. This is a warm, supportive space for parents to share experiences, exchange ideas, and reflect together. You’ll connect with others navigating similar journeys and leave with fresh insights, empathy, and practical ideas. There’s no expectation for you to read the book beforehand — this session is designed to inspire and spark reflection, not to feel like homework.
